NETWORK
BUZTON JV uses digital fiber optic technology and presently owns the only fully digital fixed telecommunication network in Uzbekistan. All switching and transmission equipment, including SDH transmission systems, switching station SystemX and other is supplied by leading manufacturers of telecommunication equipment Marconi Communications Ltd., Cisco Systems, ERICSSON, Huawei Technologies Co, Ltd.
Since past BUZTON network has transformed into an extensive overlay network with a great number of communication exchanges. In 2000 on the basis of own fiber optic network the company has built and put into operation a data network, including access to Internet which is provided by hardware complex of Cisco - the world leader in network technologies assigned for Internet. Since 2001 company proceeded to the expansion of activity of telephone and data transmission services in the whole Republic of Uzbekistan.
The fundamental structure of BUZTON as follow:
- System X - a Powerful basic digital switching station
- Fiber optic communication lines
- SDH transmission system
- Remote digital concentrators & multiplexors
SDH transmission system, based on STM-4 (622Mb/s), provides the capacity to establish a great number of 2Mb streams within the BUZTON network. Also the optical interface equipment is used which provides the capability to establish 8x2Mb streams to single subscribers or remote concentrators via fiber-optic cable. EM-OS Network Management System provides the capability to quickly change the network configurations and organize new destinations.
BUZTON JV infrastructure
The core of the Network is powerful SystemX Main Exchange with a number of remote concentrators and multiplexers, connected via Fiber Optic Communication Lines (FOCL). The Network structure has the view form of fiber optic rings with a number of removals integrating via BUZTON JV's equipment, which is installed in almost all key city telephone exchanges. BUZTON network covers total downtown of Tashkent city and provides the capability of organizing new subscribe connection almost at any point of the Tashkent city. The total length of FOCL is now more than 100 km. The length of copper cables (so called "the last mile") is over 250 km. The ring structure provides high reliability and capability of traffic re-routing.

Other Networks Interconnection
BUZTON JV's network is linked to City Network via a number of digital interfaces such as 2Mb stream connections to TCN (Tashkent City Network) Tandem exchanges and Exchange ATS-133. Connections with exchanges are duplicated over own FOCL utilizing up to tandem exchanges and utilizing of leased 2Mb stream connections in FOCL circle of TCN. Also there is analogue interface with a number of exchanges.
Ability of adapted routing over these interfaces provides actually reliable log on to public network. International and national telecommunications are provided through EWSD and NEAX international exchanges, which are directly linked through digital channels to SystemX.

BUZTON JV Data transfer Network
This is the most recent and dynamically developing BUZTON JV activity. The Data transfer Network was constructed in cooperation with well-known Golden Telecom utilizing Cisco Systems equipment, using the existing SDH networks as transport means.
